45 Short Films Selected To Be Part Of AiF 2021
The 3rd edition of Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF), dubbed The Power Edition, is slated for 20th to 24th July, 2021.
In October 2020, a call was made for young and independent filmmakers all over the world to submit their films for consideration as part of the 3rd edition of the ever-growing international short film festival.
Over 1000 short films from 84 countries were received. The first set of juries was set up to help screen the number of films down to about 200. Finally, a seven (7) member jury board was formed. This included Tony Asankomah (film-critic) from Ghana, Mpho Ramathuthu (producer) from South Africa, Kafui Danku (producer/actor) from Ghana and based in Canada, Kizito Samuel (filmmaker) from Uganda, Joy William (creative director) from Ghana, Koby Adom (filmmaker) from the United Kingdom and Aleta Rajic (creative director) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who together, selected the films for this year’s edition of the festival.
The festival, working under the theme “Independent and Daring”, finally considered 45 short films of all genres including animation, narrative short films, music videos, student films, documentaries and digital forms of storytelling.
