The prestigious and glamorous 2020 Humanitarian Awards Ghana announced its winners on Saturday, 3rd October at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.
The awards ceremony aims at identifying, recognizing and Award extraordinary individuals and groups who are positively impacting the lives of people, nature and society in Ghana and beyond.
Believing that in putting the spotlight on these individuals and non-profit organisations it will not only celebrate them but also build a strong platform for them by giving a voice and opportunities whilst building a positive attitude in making this world a better place.
Mrs. Cecilia Lodonu-Senoo was presented with a plaque “for the distinguished and exceptional achievements towards improving the lives of others and human welfare.
BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Cecilia Lodonu-Senoo is an experienced Ghanaian Public Health Nurse, a midwife and a social worker with an unwavering passion for upholding the rights and well-being of the vulnerable, especially women and children. She is the founder and the Executive Director of Hope For Future Generations (HFFG), a national community-based NGO that has over the last 19 years been at the forefront of various community interventions. Since 2001, HFFG has positively impacted the lives of over 100,000 women, children and young people including those living with disabilities and HIV across the 16 regions of Ghana through various intervention areas like: Primary Health Care, governance and institutional effectiveness, Water and Sanitation, economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
Mrs. Senoo is skilled in national and international advocacy, gender programming and has over 25 years expertise in NGO Management, Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategies and interventions, psychosocial counselling, HIV and AIDS programming, competency-based trainings, participatory learning for action with strong advocacy skills, project development and implementation. She has worked on numerous successful state and multinational funded social interventions designed to bring relief to the lives of the vulnerable across the country.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health at the University of Ghana, Legon
