NPP Primaries: Adwoa Safo Beats Mike Ocquaye With 8 Votes

Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo has won a keenly contested NPP Primaries at Dome-Kwabenya in Greater Accra.

The Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament won the Saturday elections with with eight votes ahead of her competitor, Mike Oquaye Jnr. whose father is Speaker of the House.

After counting of ballots, Adwoa Safo got 496 votes while Oquaye Jnr, who is Ghana’s Commissioner to India, garnered 488 votes.

This is the second time Qquaye Jnr. and Adwoa Safo are facing off in the primaries having clashed in 2012 when Prof. Oquaye stepped down.

Adwoa Safo has now completed a double over the Dr. Oquaye.
