Oheneyere Gifty Anti Honoured At Humanitarian Awards Ghana 2020

The prestigious and glamorous 2020 Humanitarian Awards Ghana announced its winners on Saturday, 3rd October at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.

The awards ceremony aims at identifying, recognizing and Award extraordinary individuals and groups who are positively impacting the lives of people, nature and society in Ghana and beyond.

Believing that in putting the spotlight on these individuals and non-profit organisations it will not only celebrate them but also build a strong platform for them by giving a voice and opportunities whilst building a positive attitude in making this world a better place.

Oheneyere Gifty Anti was presented with a plaque “for the distinguished and exceptional achievements towards improving the lives of others and human welfare.”

Oheneyere Gifty Anti is the Chief Executive Officer of GDA Media Ltd, a production company that believes in providing quality service with a Feminine touch. The company’s flagship programme, The Standpoint TV programme is currently the leading agenda driven women’s discussion programme on TV in Ghana. The programme which she hosts and also as executive producer, is aired in the UK on ABN TV, which is on the Sky Network Channels. Oheneyere Gifty Anti is a bestselling author and her 1st book, A Bit Of Me, is currently one of the most sought after inspirational books in Ghana and beyond. Over 500 copies were sold in just Three days; and the book became number one on Amazon, under the Survival Biographies category, in less than a week. She currently holds an Honorary Doctor of Letters Degree, a master’s degree in International Journalism from City University, London, and has also attended a number of training courses at the United Nations, the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and had an internship at SABC-Africa in South Africa. Oheneyere holds a master’s degree in International Journalism from City University, London.

She also holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. She attended Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School at Saltpond, where she successfully completed her sixth form education. She had her early education at Tema community 8 “Number 1” Basic School where she sat for her Common Entrance Examination in For Two instead of Form Four. Oheneyere Gifty Anti is also an ambassador for the campaign against Newborn deaths. She is a former Board member of the Ghana Federation of the Disabled.

Oheneyere Dr. Gifty Anti, worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, TV division (GTV News) for 17years (including a one-year National Service). She started at GTV not as a presenter but as a reporter in the TV newsroom and a Floor Manager on the Breakfast Show (the first morning show on TV in Ghana). By dint of hard work, she became a presenter on The Breakfast Show on the first day the programme started, 13th February 1997. She resigned from GBC in December 2013.
