President of the 4th Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has declared December 7 a public holiday.
The President in an immediate press release declared the day of election as a holiday inorder to ensure the strict observance of the Covid-19 safety protocols and also to facilitate the conduct of the elections in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic .
This decision by the President as indicated by the press release was taken following a submission of proposal by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Mrs. Jean Mensa.
