Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, McBrown, A-Plus Must Use Their Influence To Help Fix The Country – Kojo Kinn

The hashtag “FIX THE COUNTRY” has become a predominant phrase in Ghana as the youth of the nation are calling on the leadership of the government to fix the deprived standards of living of the economy.

Within a space of a few weeks, what started as a social media uproar by a Social commentator by name Kalyjay has graduated into a serious campaign which has aroused massive attention and influence.

Issues raised by the youth that needs to be fixed ranges from, security, rent, education, power, unemployment, roads etc and overall the high cost of living in Ghana.

Ghana as a country is blessed with rich natural resources to transform the economy but successive governments have always offered little with respect to development and the institution of policies that will insure to the general benefit of the Ghanaian in the long term.

Failure to fulfil their own promises in their respective manifestos under their tenure of office validates the “FIX THE COUNTRY” call by the Ghanaian youth.

Many celebrities from music, movies and sports have also endorsed this campaign however, I strongly believe our celebrities can contribute their quota to national development by starting to donate to help solve some pressing needs of their immediate community to the benefit of Ghana as a whole.

Celebrities like Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, A Plus, Nana Ama Mcbrown just to mention a few are all leaders in their own perspective as they have control and influence over a large number of people.

I strongly believe they can help provide community needs like water, places of convenience, school buildings, libraries, among others.

Our celebrities can embark on these projects as their corporate Social responsibility though not mandatory but a good venture as they have enjoyed support from the community.

Someone may ask how this can be done? A very good question but I have the solution.

These celebrities can achieve these objectives without spending a dime out of their hard earned income, all they need to do is to use their social media credibility and influence to solicit funds from their immediate followers and fans from all over the world.

With their brand equity and appeal, other corporate bodies will join them to make this project highly successful to help solve some of our numerous societal needs.

Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Tyler Perry, Nicki Minaj among others contribute millions of dollars to charity every year.

Showbiz presenter Samuel Atuobi Baah during his Pluzz Fm days used his platform to solicit funds from listeners when music producer Kusilin Beat was facing rent issues.

I plead with our celebrities to accept this challenge for us all to Help build our dear nation Ghana.
