Gospel singer Yaw Sarpong disclosed that his illness was God’s own way of making him understand his own songs.
Yaw Sarpong in an interview with Maame Pokuah on Kingdom+ FM’s mid morning show disclosed that when he was sick and couldn’t perform or sing,he was not discouraged; rather he began to understand and feel the impact of pains and grief that the world suffers and the comfort and peace his songs send through the world.
“I sing songs that are filled with comfort , peace , inspiration, motivation, hope and sense living in the darkest part of anybody’s life , when someone dies, I go and sing my songs so the family left behind will be comforted and have a sense of living again. My illness was God’s own way of making me understand and appreciate my songs and the good messages it carries”, he revealed.
Yaw Sarpong concluded that in all of life’s journey he has never gotten discouraged about anything and never believed that colleagues take each other through diabolic means because when he was born nobody was there and close friends and family can testify, even in ill health he always knew he would regain strength and come back to music.
