Ghanaian gospel legend, Yaw Sarpong has underscored in an interview with MP on Kingdom+ 101.9 FM saying, most musicians are from poor homes, and that is God’s way of uplifting them from poverty with a resultant effect on their families.
He further stressed on the lack of structures which has truncated the royalty proceeds from the musical regulatory bodies leading to most musicians ending up abject poverty in the long run citing King Oyina, E. K Nyame as examples.
In conclusion, he stated that he is only surviving from the gifts and monetary consideration some fans commit into his account over the years.
Yaw Sarpong is yet to release his 26th studio album which has Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie and other great musical heavyweights.
