Hon. Dr. Abraham Armah Bitterly Lamented About The Poor State Of Dunkwa Basic School In Ekumfi

Hon. Dr. Abraham Armah, the current President of Ekumfi Creative Arts Confederation and also one of the youths who has contributed much to the development of his constituency, has bitterly lamented about the poor state of Dunkwa Basic School in Ekumfi. The school has been in a poor state for over six years, and neither the political nor traditional leaders have opted to take any remedy to address the challenge.

In his recent interview with Kwamena Obrempong on Naj Media Ghana, Hon. Dr. Armah, who is well known as Father AB, boldly disclosed that the school building was in a poor state before he was transferred to the school. Academically, he has been in the school for three years, and none of the political nor traditional leaders has opted to do something about it.

Father AB added that since he was transferred to the school, the authorities of the school, along with other relevant community members, have written letters and pleaded with the assembly to take any necessary action. However, the assembly has never attempted to solve the problem.

He sadly told Naj Media that the teaching staff and parents tried to do little maintenance thereof the building could be safer for the students and teachers as well, but it wasn’t possible. This is because they hired a carpenter to work on the roofing so students could still learn while it was raining, but the carpenter fell because all the woods on the building were damaged.

“Because the building is very poor, it’s very dangerous. Most often goats and sheep mess up in the classroom with toilet and urine because they have access to the room. Before classes can begin, students must clean up the classrooms, and this also delays the teaching and learning activities. Although the students will clean up such messes, we still feel a bad scent, which may affect the health of the students and teachers as well,” he lamented.

Father AB used Naj Media Ghana as a platform to plead with individuals to come to their aid to address the challenge that is affecting the school.
